01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated in the heart of Torquay at 3 Union St, Costa Coffee offers more than just your typical coffee stop — it’s a welcoming haven for both locals and visitors seeking a refreshing and expertly crafted beverage experience. As one of the UK’s most beloved coffee shop chains, this Costa Coffee location perfectly blends a vibrant, friendly atmosphere with a carefully curated menu that caters to every taste.

Step inside, and you’ll immediately notice the warm smiles and swift service that customers frequently praise. Whether you’re in the mood for a cool, invigorating iced coffee or a comforting hot chocolate, Costa Coffee has you covered. Their Coffee Over Ice selections, including the creamy Iced Latte, frothy Iced Cappuccino, bold Cold Brew Coffee, and smooth Iced Flat White, deliver refreshing options perfect for a sunny day along the Torquay promenade.

For those craving something a bit fruitier or lighter, the Fruit Coolers & Other Drinks menu sparkles with vibrancy. Delight in the tropical zing of Mango & Passion Fruit, the luscious sweetness of Red Summer Berries, or the exotic notes of Watermelon & Coconut. The Peach Iced Tea and creamy Milk Whip are equally inviting, offering something unique for all palates.

Costa Coffee doesn’t shy away from indulgence either. Their selection of rich and decadent treats such as the Gingerbread & Cream Latte, the velvety Blackforest Hot Chocolate, and the indulgent Salted Caramel Crunch will satisfy anyone seeking a sweet escape.

What truly sets this Costa Coffee apart, however, is the genuine care and customer-first approach of the staff. Javid Alakbarli’s review perfectly captures this sentiment, praising the “very friendly” team, in particular highlighting Katie for her exceptional hospitality. Isla Bundy’s touching account of how the team went “above and beyond” to accommodate her son’s allergies — washing equipment thoroughly and maintaining clean, safe preparation spaces — reveals a depth of mindfulness rare in many places. Wendy Moorhead’s story of staff double-checking ingredients to ensure her safety with a strawberry allergy further underscores the staff’s dedication to personalized service. This is not just a coffee shop; it’s a place that values each guest's needs and comforts.

Andy Burridge reflects the store’s ideal location perfectly, calling it “just in the right place to stop off for a coffee when walking through Torquay.” It’s easy to imagine popping in here after a scenic stroll along the seafront, recharging with a comforting cup of expertly brewed coffee, perhaps while watching the vibrant town life unfold.

Romayne Stubbs’ praise sums it up beautifully: “All so friendly, great staff, food fantastic, my favourite coffee at all Costas.” This blend of excellent service, tasty offerings, and a lively yet cozy environment makes Costa Coffee at Union St a memorable part of any visit to Torquay.

For anyone searching for a coffee shop that pairs quality drinks with heartfelt, attentive service, Costa Coffee Torquay is a top pick. Whether you crave a refreshing iced treat, a rich chocolate indulgence, or simply a warm, inviting spot to pause and enjoy friendly company, this Costa Coffee delivers on all fronts with genuine flair.

We visited August 7th and this store went above and beyond to help make sure my sons experience was a positive one. He has several allergies and usually misses out on treats he would like to join us on but this time the staff made sure all of the equipment was freshly washed and they were clean and safe whilst making his drink taking time to wash hands and clean down surfaces all whilst being extremely busy ! It made a treat day extra special, unfortunately we didn't get the name of the man who served us but we appreciate his efforts. Thank you!!

I popped in whilst on holiday last week and I asked for two herbal tea the member of staff who was serving me went through the range they had. I asked if the Berry tea contained strawberry and both he and a colleague went out of their way to check all the information they had to make sure that I could drink it as I am allergic to strawberries. A fantastic level of customer service and well worth mentioning. Well done guy's. Thank you

I like Costa but the food could be better. Toasted sandwiches should be toasted both sides, they are not and they are too expensive. Coffee is nice. This store doesn't have a lot of choice of food. Didn't have any salads like other places. I didn't see one person cleaning table's and taking trays away. Only saw three members of staff. Would I go in again, not very often.

A nice suprise - popped in here as all other nearby places were closing for the day. As Costas go, this has a decent layout making it feel spacious. However, the main positive was the service (by Kezia? - didn't quite catch her name). Very friendly and efficient whilst bustling around doing many tasks at once. This was my first visit to Torquay and the town didn't come across so well! But a micro moment in Costa was a plus.

I went here with my 2 year old, we had a bit of a meltdown about her milk being too hot and the staff were so kind and understanding, doing everything they could to accommodate us. Very appreciated from a frazzled mum!!!
